This is beautiful country cottage, built in the traditional style and situated in a magnificent setting at the heart of the Parque Nacional of Grazelema, just thirty minutes from Ronda and five minutes from the pretty white village of Zahara de la Sierra. For those searching for a haven of peace and tranquillity in which to spend a truly relaxing holiday, this property has everything one could wish for. The house is within an enclosed garden with panoramic open views in a secluded and idyllic location above the lake, which fills the valley below. The approach to the house is along a one and a half kilometre track leading to the gates and cobbled driveway surrounded by a variety of mature trees. French windows open from the sitting room onto a large terrace with breathtaking vistas of the surrounding mountains. To the side, a further terrace overlooking the swimming and paddling pool has a wooden table and chairs for outdoor dining, a lavatory and utility room with washing machine and excellent barbeque, sink and food preparation area. Entering the house from this side, the kitchen is to the right and is equipped with ceramic hob, dishwasher, oven and fridge freezer. Arches open out onto the sitting room which features a traditional, raised fireplace with French windows on either side and intricate intricate brickwork arches. The dining area in the corner has a table and chairs to seat ten people. Stairs lead up from the sitting room to a reception area with a door to the rear of the house and which has two armchairs in front of a window with spectacular views. The three bedrooms are off to the side, two with twin beds, the third having a double bed. It should be noted that the walls to all bedrooms are open at the top to allow for the intricately constructed cane and beamed ceiling. The bathroom is on this level and is attractively fitted with a corner bath, shower, lavatory and sink. To the rear of the house a cliff rises and shelters the property from any prevailing winds and contains the small caves from which the house takes its name and which are currently used as storerooms. Cobbled terraces surround the house and lead up to the swimming pool, which has a fully automated filtration system and measures approximately 8x4 metres with a further shallow paddling area at the end. This is a unique house with many attractive features throughout, set in splendid isolation The white village of Zahara, just a few minutes drive, is an attractive and lively place with a good array of bars and restaurants and is topped by the remains of a fairytale Moorish castle looking out over the lake below. | ||||||||||||
