The house is generously spread out on one floor with an interior
courtyard flanked with colonnades. The interior is flawlessly decorated,
the garden impressive and the view towards the Roman ruins of Acinipo
unmatched. The Hacienda will give visitors a truly splendid opportunity
to experience the raw beauty of Andalucia amidst a luxurious utopian
idyll.
A private track through the grounds leads to the house. There are
natural springs, imposing trees and a tropical garden laid out around a
pond. Arriving at the imposing antique doors which enclose the
courtyard, the details and quality of the property are apparent, with
plants and flowers in abundance. Water tinkles in the fountain and on
warm summer nights it makes the perfect spot for a candlelit supper.
The kitchen, in the west wing, has two ovens, fridge/freezer, roasting
spit, hob, fireplace/indoor barbecue and dishwasher. There is also a
well equipped laundry room with industrial washing machine and dryer. A
fine refectory table and chairs for informal dining furnish the kitchen.
The formal dining room embodies everything an elegant dining room should
be: a fine mahogany dining table and chairs which seat ten, with to the
side a sideboard for serving and drinks table for after dinner brandies
and liqueurs. The small sitting room is cosy and comfortable with a
large satellite television and DVD player expertly fitted into the wall.
The drawing room is exceptionally spacious with a specially commissioned
oriental carpet. Several pairs of French windows lead out onto the
terrace which runs the entire length of the house and gives out onto the
spectacular view toward the Roman ruins. The large hallway takes one
down to the east wing where there is an extensive library and a separate
study. In the library is located a computer for use of guests with
internet connection. There are five double bedrooms, all with luxury en
suite bathrooms and quality fittings. The west wing of the house
has an staff annexe with a bedroom , bathroom, small kitchen and
Outside, a vine covered pergola with marble topped table and chairs and
a built in barbeque offers a splendid dining area with views to the
ruins of Acinipo across the immaculate lawns surrounded by herbaceous
borders. The main elevated terrace has central steps that sweep down to
the water garden which takes much of its inspiration from the Generalife
garden of the Alhambra Palace at Granada. Further down, the swimming
pool measuring 15 x 6 meters echoes the palette of Andalucia with its
pale green colour. There is also a knot garden to the east of the house
with both tropical and indigenous plants used to good effect to give a
formal aspect to this individual and luxuriant property.
The house comes prepared as one would expect from a property of this
category: daily maid service, all cotton sheets, abundant towels,
vases of flowers as well as wine and olive oil from the estate.
A part time cook is also on hand to prepare and serve meals and
snacks as needed.
