Highlights.... There are few spots inland in Andalusia that boast a view over a large expanse of water. This small cottage is located in an elevated position looking out over the lake at Zahara and beyond to the castle atop the hill at Zahara. The cottage is simply laid out on a single floor with terraces around three sides with shady spots for eating, reading or just relaxing. There are two barbecues, a large one for the whole family and a small one suitable for smaller snacks. In front of the house there is an old threshing circle made up of stones, where the best view is to be had of the lake below. To the left is a lovely pool area with plenty of outdoor furniture, sunbeds and table and chairs. Inside, there is a sitting room/dining room with sofas, chairs and dining table. An open fire is available for the cooler months, wood can be ordered from the owners at 7 € per day. A television with Spanish channels, CD player and cassette are also provided. The kitchen with adjoining laundry room is a generous size and is equipped with hob, oven, fridge/freezer and microwave and is tiled throughout. The bedrooms are adjacent to the bathroom, the principle one having a double bed with wardrobe and chest of drawers. The second bedroom has twin bed with the third
also having twin beds. The bathroom is fully tiled and is fitted with a bath/shower, basin, lavatory and bidet. In general this is a comfortable cottage which is well maintained with incredible views across the lake. Close by there is the small village of El Gastor with shops and a restaurant and is largely untouched by tourism. A ten minute drive away on the other side of the lake is an excellent restaurant located near the camp site at Arroya Molinos which is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner. The village of Zahara which can be seen from the house has a good selection of bars and restaurants and further on the beautiful village of Grazelema with many bars and restaurants set in the middle of the Parque Natural de Grazelema. Not far from the house there is access to the lake in which one can swim
and hire kayaks. Next to the lake is a bar and restaurant also. Although busy during the weekend
the lake it is usually quiet in the week. More Photographs
