Casa El Lago sits perched on a hillside and enjoys fabulous views to the historic white village of Zahara de la Sierra and of the large fresh water lake, with the mountains of the Sierra de Grazalema behind.  This is a unique property, built with great attention to detail and with many unusual features and a warm welcoming atmosphere, making it a truely lovely place to spend a quiet and peaceful holiday.

There is a spacious terrace area to the front of the property, partly walled, which leads to the swimming pool which measures 14m x 3.5m with steps down. The land slopes down and is planted with olive trees, with amazing views at every angle.  There is a built-in barbeque with an additional gas hob and sink just a short distance away from the house and the pretty bamboo-covered dining area with chairs and a table, a lovely area to dine by the light of the stars.

Antique wooden doors lead to the light-infused living area with large windows looking out to the lake and a raised wooden floor with two sofas, table and a woodburner.  A television, DVD and CD are also provided.

The comfortable dining area has a wooden table and chairs with antique lamps, bookcases and a ceiling fan.  The downstairs lavatory has a handpainted antique door, to the far end of the dining area.  Adjacent is the well-equipped kitchen with wall tiles from Granada, marble worksurfaces and terracotta floors throughout.  There is an electric oven, electric and gas hob, a dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave oven and sink.  To one end is a pantry with wooden shelves and a washing machine.

Stairs lead up to a bright cosy double bedroom with a desk set under a large window, antique dresser and built-in wardrobe.  There is a large shower room decorated in blue and white with a Moroccan ceiling lamp, large walk-in shower, basin and wc.  The other large double bedroom has a door leading out to a balcony, which looks out to the mountains and lake, a built-in wardrobe and Moroccan floor rugs.  There is an ensuite bathroom decorated in yellow and white tiles with a bath with shower over, double basin, wc and full-length mirror.

This property is a charming mix of old and new, with many origional paintings by local artists, and interesting objects collected from trips to Morocco, India and Spain.  There is an overwhelming sense of light and space throughout.
