Casa Elena is a beautiful and unusual village house in one of the quiet parts of Gaucin. It is built around a spacious courtyard with a great deal of privacy for it’s four en suite bedrooms. The house is elegantly decorated and would grace the pages of any interior design magazine and is characterised by pale terracotta floors and shades of white throughout. French windows open onto the courtyard allowing the Mediterranean sunshine to flood in. There is a large sitting room downstairs with three sofas covered in white linen around an open fire, which opens on to a quiet study area with further armchairs. The kitchen/diner has everything to hand, with a five- ring gas hob, oven, microwave and fridge. Another fridge/freezer is located in the laundry room with the washing machine. Above is a small library providing excellent reading matter for a restful holiday. Leading to the left and to the right are two of the en suite bedrooms. The master bedroom has a delightful 19th century four- poster bed, whilst the second bedroom has two single beds. Across the courtyard, the third bedroom has a double bed and a charming terrace with spectacular views in all directions. The fourth bedroom is quite separate and has two single beds and a small kitchen with a two-ring gas hob, microwave and fridge. This also has it’s own large terrace from which on a clear day Africa is visible. All bedrooms have en suite bathrooms with shower, basin and lavatory. The courtyard is full of pots and plants, an ideal place to while away the day in sun or shade with the occasional dip in the heated swimming pool (full filtration system and measuring 5x 2.5 metres). Dining facilities are of course also provided in the courtyard. Included in the specifications of the house is central heating, satellite television with British channels, DVD, video and CD and off street parking in a garage. This is a sophisticated property offering a pleasant hideaway for those wishing for a quiet holiday in a very picturesque village but within strolling distance of some good bars and restaurants.
