This elegant and spacious house is set in a well maintained two acre
garden facing towards the Mediterranean and the North African coast. Due
to the thoughtfulness of the design it has a particularly relaxing
atmosphere. There are shady terraces and a scent filled courtyard with
the sound of running water from a discrete wall fountain – a perfect
setting in which to unwind.
A large lawn runs the length of the house next to the long covered
terrace, which has a built in barbecue and a marble topped dining table
and chairs conveniently situated outside the French windows from the
kitchen. Ratten furniture is also provided for reading, dozing or pre
dinner drinks. Stone steps lead down to the pool area which is set in a
commanding position below the property. The pool is unusally large and
can be heated for an additional 60 pounds per week.
There are plenty of sunbeds and a pool house to retreat to if shade is
required. The view is stunning and the privacy and peacefulness
unparallelled.
The house comfortably sleeps eight people. The master bedroom which is
upstairs, is generously proportioned with its own ensuite bathroom and
large terrace from which to appreciate the view. The second bedroom is
on the ground floor and has twin beds and an ensuite bathroom. French
windows lead out onto the covered terrace
- ideal for breakfast.
The third and fourth bedroom are at the other end of the house and share
a bathroom.
The sitting room is at the heart of the house with a high ceiling and
two sets of French windows that open onto the terrace and the large
expanse of lawn. Sofas surround the open fireplace and a tuned upright
piano graces the room.
For evening entertainment there is also
a television, with satellite UK
channels,
a DVD
and
a
card table.
The kitchen is a well planned workspace with hob,
oven, large fridge freezer with icemaker, microwave and dishwasher.
It also has a pine table
that seats eight people and a sideboard. A separate utility room houses
the washing machine.
The house is well maintained by gardening and cleaning staff and a cook
can be arranged if required. The house whilst being extremly secluded
has good access to the coast, golf courses and is a ten minute drive
into the village of Gaucin which has shops, bars and restaurants. This
is an idyllic place to spend a holiday with many guests returning year
after year.
